For the new Milanese headquarters of the famous law firm of Simmons & Simmons, in the city’s most prestigious location, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Massimiliano Locatelli/CLS architetti has created a project based on the dialogue between soft Italian elegance and clearly modernist features. The contrasts unfold in tones of gray, white and black, in precious materials like marble and brass, and in extreme attention to detail in the spaces and furnishings all designed specifically for this office by Massimiliano Locatelli.
The red thread of the project, organized in an area of over 2000 square meters, is the terrazzo flooring, which has been conserved and enhanced with contrasting inserts in pale cement and black marble, to form a game of surfaces.
The black color of iron also marks the doors and the borders of the large arches that add rhythm to the spaces, generating a perspective effect of great impact with the white walls.
The entrance to the offices features a large desk in brushed brass, below a theatrical brass chandelier with blown neon glass elements. The terrazzo returns in the bathrooms, with large-format wall slabs in opposite colors with respect to the floor.
Precious tables of different sizes, with tops in marble that reference the material used in the mixture of the composite flooring, supported by structures in iron and brass, occupy the large meeting room lit by transparent neon prisms. All designed by Massimiliano Locatelli.
A marvelous terrace offers a fine view of the 19th-century architecture of the building.
